If you’re like most exotic dancers, most of your money is going to come from doing lap dances, or what’s most commonly referred to as a private dance. Over many a drunken nights, I’ve learned a lot of tips from other Chicago strippers on how to have the most fun while performing a lap dance.

The Difference Between Hooters Girls and Strippers

I was out having lunch at Water Tower place the other day when a heated argument ensued over the difference between Hooters girls and strippers. Of course, this conversation had to take place over buffalo wings and way too many beers.

I’ve had the good fortune of working with many exotic dancers who were either part-time Hooters waitresses, or former employees . There are plenty of girls out there who get jobs waitressing at Hooters that have no intention of ever working in a club dancing. On the other hand,  I’ve worked in enough strip clubs to know that some of the most successful and best looking strippers once worked as a Hooters waitress.

Although Hooters hostesses and waitresses perform their job in sexy tight shorts, it’s a far stretch to lump them in the same category as strippers. A Hooters girl is probably not likely to give a private lap-dance, or strip at your next bachelor party. As you might have guessed, the inebriated group I was with totally disagreed.

Why do so many Hooters Waitresses turn to stripping?

Imagine working at a restaurant all day with scores of men asking you out on dates, slipping phone numbers and encouraging you to dance to make more cash. Day in and day out-you hear the same shit.  A few bad days serving burgers and you might think, ” I wonder how much I could make stripping?”  In all honesty, it’s the perfect transition.

For many girls, trying their luck at a Gentlemen’s club seems pretty logical. I once saw five girls start go-go dancing at a Chicago nightclub, and all of them quit within a week. They come to find out that stripping is a lot harder than it seems.

The Factory Strip Club Chicago Faces Controversy

Over the past few months, Factory Chicago  strip club has been facing controversy and political heat from area residence on the city’s far south side. Local alderman, as well as area residence complain about the fully nude strip club opening it’s doors at 12050 South Doty Avenue because they have the stero-typical notion that an adult club in the neighborhood could possibly influence young people. Give me a break!

This is a classic case of  media and political forces getting all worked up about a belief that simply isn’t true! If you believe The Factory Chicago Strip Club is going to somehow inspire teen-agers to want to grow up to be strippers, than you might as well require everyone in the ninth ward to stop watching TV. On any given night we can watch some reality show that features half nude exotic dancers froliking around the screen.  Has anyone out there on the South Side been to Las Vegas latey? Virtually every top-class resort hotel now features some sort of partial or nearly nude review show.

First of all, the building is not near busy shopping areas and schools. Secondly, the assumption is that you don’t want your kids to grow up to be strippers because somehow that’s the worst job in the world. Not sure if they know this out near the 9th ward, but girls who work at strip clubs are not there having sex! Furthermore, you can pretty much walk into any traditional Chicago nightclub and see girls wearing less than what you would see at a gentlemen’s club.  Let’s be clear: there is not adult club in Chicago that exposes the inside of their buildings to the general public. It’s not like were in Amsterdam or anything. I’ve met the owner of Factory Chicago on serveral occassions in the past while working at another bar and he has always been a stand-up, good guy. I think the last thing he wants to do is start trouble for those living near the Roseland community.

We are in one of the worst finanical situations since the mid 1980s, and unemployment is hovering at aroun 11 percent in Chicago. It would be a better idea to welcome The Factory Strip Club to your area for financial reasons alone.  The consumers will be eating at your restaurants, spending money at gas stations and maybe encourage others to drive to your community. I wonder if they would object to a casino in the area too?

I would hope that my friends to the south would allow The Factory Strip Club in Chicago an opportunity to prove they can be a valuable asset to the area without all the needless controversy that usually occures when a strip club opens in a new area.

I would highly reccomend that you not call and request speaking to managers or owners about how to get a job dancing at the club, unless it is the establishments normal procedure. You might be a smoking hot, incredible looking girl but staff members can’t see what you look like on the phone, no matter how well you describe yourself. In my experience managing clubs: the person who answers the phone at a club can proivde you with all the information you need, and in many instances schedule your audition.

Private Companies

There are numerous private adult entertainment companies in Chicago, and across Illinois that offer exotic dancing jobs. In many cases, these agencies book strippers and exotic dancers for bachelor parties, divorce parties, birthday parties and special events. In this case, it’s completley ok to call the company and ask to speak to the owner or manager about the hiring process.

A majority of the time, these types of places will ask you to e-mail a picture and schedule a time to meet. In some instances, you may be asked to audition, or to peform at a few shows before being hired on a regular basis. It really is all up to the discression of each company.

I would reccomend having someone (preferably a professional) take a classy and sexy photo of you. You don’t have to look like a model, but obtaining a job as an exotic dancer it’s difficult to do with out pictures.

Strippers Sue Club

A group of strippers in Boston are suing clubs for charging what is standardly known as house fees. It’s very common place for agencies and strip clubs to charge girls a basic dancer house fees and percentage for dancing.

Sometimes it gets out of control when girls end up paying fines for being late or missing nights, but that is par for the course within most strip clubs. I’m not sure if this club in Boston was categorizing these girls as independent contractors, or if they were just cooking the books. Thankfully, most Chicago Strippers
